Johnny Depp recently won his defamation case against former wife Amber Heard and is now dating Joelle Rich, one of his legal team during a 2020 libel suit against UK publication the Sun. She served on Johnny’s legal team during this case.
US Weekly reported that they became close during their trial, and have begun dating since.
Joelle Rich
Joelle Rich, 37, is a British lawyer and partner at Schillings law firm in London. According to her LinkedIn profile, she specializes in copyright and defamation cases; according to reports she attended Depp’s Virginia trial against Amber Heard for defamation over the summer.
Rich was not part of the actor’s legal team, yet she would often appear alongside him at court appearances. She would arrive outside and sit right behind him in the first row before departing at the end of each day together.
Us Weekly reports that Edward Scissorhands star Edward Norton (59), and London-based lawyer Jasmina Tuck have begun discreetly dating over the past several months, meeting up in hotels to talk about work related topics and then later “disclosing their romance publicly”. No official statement regarding their budding romance has been released by either party yet.
Camille Vasquez
Camille Vasquez has garnered headlines due to her reported romantic relationship with Johnny Depp. According to reports, they started dating around early 2018 after being seen together at restaurants and outside courthouses where Camille worked on Depp’s case against Amber Heard.
Brown Rudnick’s Brand & Reputation Management group currently counts her among its co-chairs and her practice is focused on plaintiff-side defamation suits. Additionally, she is adept at litigating contract disputes, business torts and employment-related claims.
Vasquez attributes her success to both of her parents, immigrants from Colombia. While her father arrived via one of the “Freedom Flights”, his mother worked at a Hilton Hotel front desk; both taught their daughter the value of hard work and dedication in reaching any goal, something which Vasquez applied in winning her defamation trial against Heard. Knowing the depths of peoples’ reputations are paramount, Vasquez takes immense satisfaction in changing narratives surrounding them and their clients’ names.
Benjamin Chew
After graduating from the University of Virginia School of Law, Chew gained valuable experience at Squire Patton Boggs and Manatt Phelps & Phillips before joining Brown Rudnick in 2018. His expertise lies in complex commercial litigation (such as sports & entertainment cases) as well as international disputes.
Chew was known for being a lively personality outside of court, often cracking jokes and not taking himself too seriously, according to former colleagues. Additionally, he loved candy and would bring in bags of gummy bears or M&Ms as snacks during lengthy hearings; his video showing him munching gummy bears while sitting at his desk during Johnny Depp case proceedings went viral online.
Chew contends in his case against Heard that her claims of Depp abuse are false and intends to prove this by showing how Heard has falsified facts in order to gain publicity and financial gain from her suit against the actor.
Kate Moss
On the surface, Moss and Depp made an attractive couple; however, behind-the-scenes, their relationship was far less stable; in fact, Moss witnessed one of Depp’s domestic violence incidents. After being introduced by Vanity Fair writer George Wayne in 1994, Depp and Moss would begin dating until 1998, when Depp began dating Vanessa Paradis.
Before their divorce in 2015, Depp and Rose gave birth to daughter Lily-Rose and son Jack before getting separated and eventually divorcing in 2015. Soon after his initial separation, Depp went on to marry actress Amber Heard; their marriage lasted 15 months until Heard filed for a temporary restraining order against Depp as part of their turbulent union.
Reports surfaced in September 2022 that Depp had started dating his lawyer Joelle Rich. Rich had represented Depp against Sun newspaper for its inaccurate portrayal of him as a wife beater; however, she did not represent Depp during his defamation trial against Heard in Virginia this year.
